The National Gallery of Australia has released more tickets to James Turrell's critically acclaimed Perceptual Cell experience, which was sold out earlier this year.

The Perceptual Cell, which allows a single person inside a white metal sphere for an intense 15-minute light display, was the centrepiece of the James Turrell: A Retrospective exhibition which closed in June.
Tickets to the work of art sold out just two months into the show's run, but there's good news for the hundreds of people who missed out.
On Monday morning, the National Gallery of Australia announced the release of more tickets to the Perceptual Cell on weekends from August 8 until November 1.
Tickets are now available from Ticketek from $15 for National Gallery of Australia members and $20 for the general public.
Simeran Maxwell, who worked as an assistant curator on the Retrospective exhibition, said the gallery had been contacted by many people hoping the Perceptual Cell would return.
"It's going to run the same way it ran during the exhibition where you would buy a ticket in advance online and then be allocated a spot, with sessions held every 15 minutes," she said.
"It certainly took quite a lot of work to install all of the retrospective exhibition so given we own the work of art it is an exciting opportunity to run it again for people who feel they missed out."
The 15 minute experience proved so intense visitors were required to sign a waiver before entering.
"We just thought given popularity of the work and also the fact that it something that is difficult to reinstall in the future, we would leave it for a while," Ms Maxwell said.
Ms Maxwell said tickets were limited given the nature of the experience and many were purchased within an hour of release.
"This piece of work needs staff so it is not something that can be self-serving, so we decided we would open it on weekends only," she said.
"We do need to reiterate that it is an experience for those aged 18 and older and you do need to sign a waiver, but it will run very similarly to the way it was conducted before."
The long-running blockbuster retrospective by the world-renowned American artist marked a turning point for the National Gallery of Australia, the only institution in Australia to host the exhibition.
