The event, at the ACT Emergency Services Agency precinct at Hume, will provide information on how households can prepare for bushfire season.
Chief minister Katy Gallagher said the seasonal outlook predicted a worse than average bushfire season in the ACT's surrounding region.
"This reinforces the need for all of usto ensure we are properly prepared for when bushfires occur," she said.
"Volunteers from our ACT Rural Fire Service Brigades will be on hand with bushfire preparedness information. There will also be advice on how to protect your pets during a fire, firefighting demonstrations, bushfire fighting helicopters, fire trucks, children's rides, food stalls, face painting and more."
The annual ACT Fire and Rescue Community Fire Unit Saturday takes place at varied Canberra locations on Saturday, November 8.
