GUNGAHLIN residents had their first long-awaited dip in the town centre's new pool on Saturday, with scores dropping in to check out the new facilities which were officially opened by ACT Chief Minister Katy Gallagher and Sport and Recreation Minister Andrew Barr.

The $28.7 million facility, managed by the YMCA, features 50-metre and 25-metre pools and a children's water park.
