Kuridrani will continue his rapid rise from the fringes of Super Rugby when the ACT Brumbies play the Waikato Chiefs in the final in Hamilton on Saturday night.

Just 17 months ago a visa bungle cost him a chance to make his debut against the Chiefs in Tauranga when he wasn't allowed to fly to New Zealand.

But the powerful outside-centre had no trouble getting through customs on Thursday and will line up against the defending champions.

The shy 22-year-old comes from the same Fijian village as former Canberra Raiders try-scoring machine Noa Nadruku and dual international Lote Tuqiri.

Mortlock declared Kuridrani as a potential Wallabies powerhouse.

''He's got all the hallmarks you want for an international centre and [it's] possible [he could become] dominant on the international stage,'' Mortlock said.

''He's still young and learning, but the pleasing thing is his defence is outstanding. In attacking, he's a real finishing weapon.

''There's a lot to like about him. He's got a pretty imposing physical presence and those attributes will serve him well going forward.

''I like [Kuridrani's] flair … he's got his own way of doing things and it's going well for him now.''

Kuridrani was the Brumbies' semi-final hero last weekend when he scored a try with just 90 seconds left to lift his side to victory against the Pretoria Bulls.

Making his Super Rugby final berth and a Wallabies call-up even more remarkable is that Kuridrani was ready to give up on his immediate professional goals less than two years ago.

He was preparing to move back to Namatakula with mother Litiana and father Inosi.

But Brumbies coach Jake White threw the former Fijian and Australian junior representative a lifeline.

To feel like he's at home, Kuridrani meets with Nadruku every month for a kava session at the former Raiders winger's house.

Kuridrani has also formed a tight bond with fellow Fijian Brumby Henry Speight.

Their teammates joke they're the ''Bula Boys'' and they speak to each other in their native language.

But Kuridrani's heritage cost him a debut Super Rugby appearance against the Chiefs last season.

He was preparing to fly to New Zealand when team officials realised his visa needed to be renewed.

''To be honest, I'm not really shocked we're in the final because I think we've earned it,'' Kuridrani said.

''We've worked hard as a team to get here. It's going to be a very special day … grand finals don't come around very often. There's one more game to go.''
