Wighton has backed his one-time NSW teammate Latrell Mitchell's stance after the Sydney Roosters star labelled the treatment of Australia's Indigenous people as "sickening".
The 22-year-old called out an online troll last month and says "I'll do that for the rest of my career, for the rest of my life".
Now Wighton has slammed those making racial slurs and he is adamant the people behind the keyboard don't want to learn about the pain they are causing.
But the NRL five-eighth of the year contender believes this goes beyond educating the purveyors of vitriol who seemingly have no fear of repercussions.
"It's crazy they don't already know it [is not acceptable]," Wighton said.
"I think it's just arrogance, these people who are doing it. It's a lot of arrogance and disrespect more than anything.

"It's not about learning or anything, it's a personal choice. The way they are holding themselves is not acceptable.
"It's really unacceptable in today's modern age and today's game. The more it gets called out, the less it'll happen."
Wighton and Mitchell linked up for the NSW Blues in the State of Origin series during which a number of Indigenous players opted against singing the pre-game national anthem.
The stance divided opinion but it was a chance for Mitchell to take a stand now he feels as though he has a voice.
Growing up Mitchell had been pulled off the field in the middle of games by his father when disgusting racial slurs were directed his way, and three years ago he was called a "black c----" while sitting at Leichhardt Oval alongside Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
Mitchell admits his stance has led to more racial slurs online but he will not let it deter him as he looks to bring an end to the disgraceful acts.
However he has gone off social media in the lead up to the Roosters' preliminary final clash with the Melbourne Storm at the SCG on Saturday.
A win on home soil would send the Roosters back to the grand final as they set their sights on back-to-back premierships - a feat no side has achieved in more than 20 years.
Standing on the other side of the halfway line in the biggest game of the year could very well be Wighton if the Raiders can outlast the Rabbitohs to end a 25-year grand final drought.
The Raiders' final obstacle is Wayne Bennett's South Sydney outfit at a packed Canberra Stadium on Friday night.
Tickets sold out in record time with the Raiders on the cusp of breaking their own home attendance record.
