The morning begins with a yoga session for humans and their dogs, dubbed "doga". While tickets were snapped up quickly, those interested are invited to take a place at the back of the class.
During the day there will be plenty of pup-themed activities, including a dancing dog demonstration, a basic obedience lesson, breed group photos, canine fashions on the field (the theme is globe trotting), a pooch pamper parlour and the crowd pleasing event, dachshund racing.
The Australian Federal Police and their dogs will be on hand to show off their skills.
Floriade executive producer Vickii Cotter said there would be specialty stalls aimed at dog owners, and of course, a cafe selling puppuccinos and dog biscuits.
"On the stage we have some performances as well, including music so people can just sit down and relax and enjoy the day," Ms Cotter said.
"It's a really nice way to be able to close out Floriade. Everyone loves their pets, so it's nice to be able to share the last day with our furry friends."
"We're not able to have dogs in the park normally, so to be able to close it off so they are welcome is really lovely."
The charity partner for the day is the RSPCA, and staff from the organisation will be hosting talks on a number of things, including one for children on how to look after a pet responsibly.

Ms Cotter said her team had worked to re-imagine Floriade this year, and were proud of the 2019 event.
"It takes a lot of people to pull it off. Our volunteers, you couldn't do it without them. There are hundreds of them, they're like a little army," she said.
"They love it, and their enthusiasm is what brings it to life."
