A devastating knee saw the Canberra Muay Thai fighter claim a second round (2:20) knockout victory over Andy Howson on 'One: Warrior's Code' in Jakarta on Friday.
A move to strawweight suggests Tonna will perhaps be more dangerous than ever as he sets his sights on a championship opportunity.
Tonna marched forward for the majority and closed the contest with a knee to the head of the British great.
It is Tonna's third One Super Series victory with one bout remaining on his contract before he sets his sights on a new deal.
"On top of regular training, I've had to cut a bit of weight which has been good for me," Tonna said.
"Stepping into the ring, I don't look as fit as my opponents, to be a bit nicer to myself.

"But now, I'm really lean and it's done some wonders."
As has a shift to a new gym in Muay U having spent the bulk of his career at the professional level fighting out of the Stockade Training Centre.
"I was training out of Muay U for a little while, I did it for my last fight and things went really well," Tonna said.
"I just wanted to upskill, and Kieran [Walsh] offered me a job and wanted to take it to the next level for the last remaining years I have fighting.
"I thought he was a good coach and could help me get better."
