Western District finished fourth in their bid to be crowned premier cricket's top Twenty20 outfit but that's not to say Cricket ACT's troops returned home empty-handed.

ANU spinner Ben Mitchell helped Sydney to claim the national premier Twenty20 championship in a tense two-wicket win over Adelaide University at Karen Rolton Oval this week.
Mitchell lived a double life in the Twenty20 format this season, playing for ANU in the Cricket ACT competition while linking up with Sydney in the Cricket NSW-run tournament.
His cameo appearances with Sydney paved the way for him to feature at the national titles, which put the nation's 10 best Twenty20 club teams on a collision course.
Wests had made their way to the tournament after claiming the ACT Twenty20 Cup in a rain-affected final against Tuggeranong last month.

They would eventually finish fourth - behind Sydney, Adelaide University and Carlton - with two wins from three games.
Now Wests will resume their push for a top-two finish in the Cricket ACT Douglas Cup when the final round resumes on Saturday.
Wests have already claimed first innings points and will push for an outright victory over North Canberra-Gungahlin at Keith Tournier Memorial Oval on day two.
Norths are 1-23 in their second innings, still 24 runs in arrears.
Mitchell is hunting for his own piece of silverware with ANU in the box seat to secure a finals berth in their clash against Tuggeranong at Chisholm Oval.
Fourth-placed ANU posted 243 in the first innings with Tuggeranong 3-32 in reply.
Queanbeyan effectively need to beat Ginninderra and hope ANU drop first innings points to force their way into the semi-finals.
It seems a tall order with Ginninderra on 7-326 following a stellar Jordie Misic (108) century on day one.
A John Rogers-inspired Weston Creek Molonglo outfit will look to secure the minor premiership when they resume on 8-389 against Eastlake in the first innings at Stirling Oval.
