Sydney Thunder captain Callum Ferguson has labelled Big Bash sensation Daniel Sams a future mainstay for Australia in limited overs cricket after another impressive all-round showing in Wednesday's loss to the Sixers.

Sams blasted an unbeaten 50 in his first match back from concussion and claimed his ninth and 10th wickets of this season's tournament, emerging as a shining light in what was an otherwise forgettable evening for Ferguson's men.
His efforts follow on from two Twenty20 internationals for Australia against India earlier this summer, an honour the left-arm quick earned after claiming 30 wickets in last summer's BBL, the most of any bowler.
"As an all rounder those guys are just worth their weight in gold, it's part of the reason why I think he'll play a lot more T20 and one-day cricket for Australia going forward," Ferguson said.
"He's an enormous asset for us and he's worked really hard on his batting. Last year wasn't the season he wanted with the bat but we gave him a few opportunities up the order.

"We've seen a fair bit of him for NSW in one-day cricket batting in the middle order and he played quite well.
"Certainly those opportunities that he had last year, he didn't quite nail them but they've left him in good stead. The hard work that he's put in over the last 12 months, he's really starting to bear the fruits of that hard labour."
The Thunder return to action on Monday against the Hobart Hurricanes at Manuka Oval, desperate to halt a two-game losing slide.
