Alerted by two people acting suspiciously at a car park in Bruce around 12.40am on Sunday, police attended the area. They were advised that the same sports utility vehicle, with incorrect registration plates, had entered a multi-storey car park in the same area.
Police sat off the exit to the car park and successfully deployed two sets of road spikes as the Porsche left about 1.10am.
Attempting to evade police, the Porsche driver then attempted a U-turn and hit a police car.
A female passenger leapt out of the car as it was moving. She was arrested and taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, and later transferred to the ACT Watch House.
Police followed the slow-moving Porsche with its three punctured tyres at speeds well below the posted limit to an apartment complex in Thynne Street, Bruce.
The man then drove the car through a closed garage door where police swooped and swiftly arrested him.
Police checks confirmed that the Porsche Macan was a stolen vehicle, and a search of the car located explosives, firearms, ammunition and items suspected of being stolen property.
Another stolen vehicle, a black VW Tiguan, was located nearby.
The man, who is on bail, will face charges of driving in a stolen motor vehicle, dangerous driving, unlicenced driving, refusing to undergo a drug test, refusing to provide an oral fluid sample, using incorrect number plates and failing to stop for police.
The woman will be charged with riding in a stolen motor vehicle.
Both the man and the woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday, June 28.
