The fire remains approximately 24 hectares in size.
A spokesperson for the Emergency Services Agency said crews would work to mop up hot spots and strengthen the containment lines on Tuesday.
"On ground, crews will be assisted by up to four water-bombing helicopters," they said.
About 25 firefighters fought the blaze overnight on Sunday and managed to clear a containment line around about 850 metres of it.
ACT Rural Fire Service firefighters have had to trek about two kilometres to reach the fire front, mostly using hand-held tools.
“We expect to make very good progress today particularly because of the favourable conditions,” a spokesman said on Monday.
Firefighter crews were replaced about 7am Monday and 25 were on the ground as of 10am.
The fire is located east of Corin Dam. The Corin Dam Rd west of Woods Reserve has been closed until further notice although the Woods Reserve camping area remains open.
The Bushfire Alert and Warning Level remains at "advice".
